I don't and won't believe that Lost is going to be about Hell or Purgatory for two simple reasons: Ethan and Richard Alpert, especially Richard Alpert. I think the fact that they have apparently come and gone from the island would be WAY TOO MUCH of a stretch if they were somehow able to pass between life and death, do you know what I mean? I think everyone has to be alive, maybe trapped in some kind of time warpy thing, but alive.

there's definitely something rotten about the wreckage being found at that spot, 4 miles deep down the ocean. but it just makes the plane theories more exciting than Hell/Purgatory suggestion.
And actually, I wouldn't mind if there's some time-wrap thing going on that might even bring Libby or Nathan or Eko back. That's my wishful thinking..
