I agree. Faking a crash scene and creating false news supported with manipulated images of this scene (with post-production wonders Hollywood has familiarized us all with)--that's hardly a thing Jakob cannot do. But the fake plane crash theory stops there as far as I'm concerned- if left at this point, it works well with Naomi's comment- misinformed, if not misinforming deliberately (lying).
Kind of absurd to think a whole real scene was created to play make believe with criminal authorities and investigators. It's one thing to mess up people's minds when you're backed up by Jakob and living on a secluded island with magnetic powers AND pull out equally crazy stuff in the outside world. Then again, I like surprises so we'll see
Maybe there's some temporality-twist to it all.
