I liked this episode - good suprise ending - and who would have that kind of capital to afford to stage a fake plane crash? (Mr. Paik runs Paik Automotive and according to the LE - Paik Heavy Industries - that sounds like a place I could get some mechanical parts from or made)

Who could afford it? Someone with bottles of $50K scotch sitting in their office and a contempt for the "lower" classes of people.
It's entirely possible that the Flight 815 these people boarded was not the "real" flight - that they were all hand picked in some way and for some purpose yet to be revealed.
As Steph pointed out in chat last night, Charlie was actually meant to be in the tail section but was instead being chased by Cindy while he was doing his heroin. Could that be why he is meant to die now (and why only Bernard (and Cindy - OTHER?) remain of the tail section?

Frank: It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
Jane: Goodyear?
Frank: No, the worst.
