Lol ... I thought the flashback was mostly just totally pointless. There's loads we don't know about Desmond, like when he was in the army, or in prison, they could've done something better, but never mind. I thought the bit where he was choosing whether to save Charlie or not was good.

I thought maybe Charlie was gonna "bite the bullet" so to speak.
