It probably should be able to reach over the fence (like the smoke tenticle that grabbed Eko and Locke), but maybe like the water tenticle in The Abyss, it has to be connected. (Listen, personally, I'm with you! I said,"why can't it get over the fence; that's dumb.") But if that's what the Lost show is going to give us I guess I better come up with a reason why, or at least try an assuage my "that's dumb" argument the best I can. And why? Because I just can't stay mad at Lost, I love it!
