status quo? Nothing on this island is status quo - that's the beauty of the show. If it were exactly like normal life, there'd be no cause for tv. We'd all just sit around on the sofa and stare at each other. Don't forget it has only been 80 days in island time, not three seasons that we've watched. I do agree with you in that our Losties know of the Others, but there is a difference between our losties that have had an Other do something to them (Claire, Charlie, Sawyer, Walt, Jin, Sun, and maybe Michael) and our Losties that have had more meaningful (for lack of a better word) contact with Henry, Tom, Juliet, Isabel, etc... (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Locke, and Sawyer would probably fit into this group too). The Others still have the upper hand in that they know what's happening on the island(Dharma, hostiles, underground tunnels, codes to fences, etc...) and the lay of the land and sea, the Losties have only experienced the tip of the iceberg. I'm with Sawyer and Kate in that I would avoid the Others too if they had me living in a cage and breaking rocks at gunpoint. I do love Sayid in that he has not lost focus on what the Others are... he remembers that they stole Claire, that they strung up Charlie, that they killed other losties for not returning Claire, that Ben Linus lied (for a long time) about who he was - I love his toughness - and I too hope he gets some answers out of the spy Juliet. I would not want to compromise with people who did this to my fellow Losties - "Live together; die alone" only applies to Flight 815.
