I think the Others know far more than they would ever tell (because then they would have to kill us, right Juliet?). I've heard the term "badder than we think they are" used to describe them. PLUS if Ben's lived there his whole life he surely knows quite abit about the happenings on creepy island. And there are moniters EVERYWHERE!!! I thought Ben's little station was the only one monitering the "bear" (or is that bare) activity at the hydra and Jack was the only one who saw Sawyer and Kate, but apparently lots of Others had seen it, or at least talked about it, so are there more moniters?
Was the fence off last night until Juliet pushed in the code? So the Ben-Others turned it off to move to where ever they are moving to and didn't want to waste electricity by turning it on to guard only Jack and Sayid? Maybe the Flame station was important to the operation of the fence, and now that Mikhail's dead and Flame's blown up, there's trouble with the fence. Or maybe the fence was never on and Mikhail bit down on the cyanide capsule embedded in his tooth (remnant of the cold war) to kill himself. It's probably more logical to think that it is a perimeter fence, but in order to keep smokey out I want it to be a bubble.
