I'm sorry, but Grey's Anatomy and House are pure crap. Maybe if lost starred a disgruntled doctor with a limp whose crusty witty retorts grow stale after five minutes or a young blonde whiny bimbo who does nothing but sulk in self-pity and pine over a married guy who once starred in "can't buy me love." I guess the Emmy voters listened to little Dr. Meredith Grey, when she soured her face and demanded, "Pick me. Love me."
There were several notable absences from the list (desperate housewives). However I will commend them on nominating Scrubs, Arrested Development, The Office, & Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl. However they completely overlooked Rainn Wilson from Office, I was surprised and excited about Will Arnett's nomination for Arrested development. Also Bryan Cranston from Malcolm in the Middle (not a huge fan of the show, but this man's brilliant as the dad). Sorry Rainn, maybe next year. Step it up and maybe you can beat out the guy who played Duckie. Yes it is true 2 and half men received more nominations than Lost. It is sad. I know the Emmys are not always going to get it right, but good God, did they overwhelmingly get so much wrong this year.
And just because a show is ending doesn't mean it should be nominated, I'm looking at you Will and Grace.
Congratulations to Kevin James, your nomination is about 6 years late, however it would help if your show was still funny.
I realize that many of the quality shows were nominated for awards, but when you look at the major awards I believe the representation is that of crap.
In comedy, I ask where is "Entourage," "How I Met Your Mother," & "My Name is Earl." In drama, oh "Lost" where art thou, and "desperate housewives" absent.
And Emmys I simply ask, Why?: Will & Grace, House, Grey's Anatomy, 2 & 1/2 Men.
If you nominate a show like Lost for outstanding casting and not nominate the cast or the show in any major categories are you saying, "Good job on getting all these people together for the show, however they suck and so does the show."
A good range of shows nominated in the truly important categories: editing, directing, cinematography, casting - you know the essential parts of what makes a show great, were not nominated for outstanding series awards or outstanding actor awards.
The shows that were nominated for major awards by Emmy's standards are apparently a freak of nature - a show that is just good - forget the directing, casting, etc. These shows are outstanding, even though other shows have the most outstanding directing, camerawork, editing, etc.
Okay, that's that.
