They definitely made some type of a connection between Ben and Alex clear in this episode. It makes you wonder about a Ben/Rousseau connection. It did seem that Alex wanted to speak to Ben as if he were the only hope to see Karl again.... maybe Ben isn't the baddest bad guy.
It smacked of a parent/child type of relationship to me....very interesting.
