Here it is. Much longer than the previous two, i must say. i apologise for the slight cliffhanger at the end but sometimes thats just the way it goes, hehe.

3.
Friends?
“Hey Rain” greeted the ex rockstar.
“Hi Charlie” Said Rain, with a small smile. Charlie was perhaps her only ally on the island. They had bonded mostly because of music. Rain grinned to herself as she remembered their first meeting.
“You all everybody! Oh, You all everybody!” hummed the drug addict idly
“Damn, you can hit the high notes better than me for sure”. Muttered Rain, who was in a bad mood.
“I was in a band you know.”
“Yeah I know. Driveshaft, right?”
“Do you like us?” He looked so pleased by this idea that she almost didn’t want to tell him the truth. Almost.
“Actually, I overheard you talking to the Australian pregnant girl about it. And the fat guy. And the pretty woman with the freckles. ”
“Oh.” He looked crestfallen.
“I...uh… I mean, from the little bit I heard of you, you sounded, y’know, not bad. Not great- but not bad.” Did I really just do that? She wondered. Lie, just so some has-been popstar wouldn’t be unhappy?
“Thanks.” Beamed Charlie, his whole face lighting up again. Did she really just do that? He wondered to himself. Nobody on the island had seemed to like them particularly. He had to admit, they kind of sucked. And of all people, for this teenage girl with the constant dark eyes and dark look, to praise them.
So… what kind of music do you like, other than your own?” She inquired, wanting to get off the topic of “Suckshaft” as she had nicknamed them.
“Oh well, me, I like all kinds. Must love some good old rock though. Especially those like The Beatles. Classic. And I like classic rock, like Led Zep. ”
“Cool!” She grinned, forgetting her sullen scowl. “Me too! And I like heavy rock, especially from recent times-like Nirvana?”
“Yeah, they’re my favourite band.”
And as the two of them sat on the sand discussing rock and roll, Rain’s second friendship was born.

“So how you doing today then?” asked the present Charlie.
“Not bad, you?”
“Yeah, I’m okay.”
“No, you aint.” She sighed. He had been quiet and withdrawn ever since Claire had disappeared.
“No, well…” Charlie was at a loss of what to say to that.
“Its cool if you don’t want to talk about it.” She assured him. “Lets talk about TV instead.”
“Ah yes, I remember Television.” He said, in his English accent. “I used to quite like watching kids telly. Or, oh what’s that one that ran for about a million years with all the beautiful people who somehow cant get a boyfriend or girlfriend again?”
“Friends?” She suggested.
“That’s the one! Yeah, friends rocked. In the early years anyway. Towards the end it was just like, overkill. No offence, but you yanks tend to overdo that stuff a bit.”
“Hey, none taken. To tell you the truth, I hate the country. I hate the stinking spoilt “Barbie’s” with their cell phones and laptops and miniskirts. I hate the fat ones who waste their lives away in fast-food joints. And I especially hate that stinking president.” She was spitting the words; Charlie almost expected smoke to come out her ears in a minute.
“Well Britain isn’t that much better. We had Margaret Thatcher, after all. And we invented The Spice Girls.”
Rain smiled at his lame joke.
“When I was fourteen I tried to run away to England. I thought it was more interesting, plus I wanted to get away.”
“Wow. What happened?”
“It was a fake passport and I got busted,” She sighed.
“Damn. So, whom did you go with? Or was it a lone trip. Rain? Who’d you go with?”
But Rain was lost on a sea of memories, floating away just like he had.
“…Rain?”
“Alex.” She whispered. “I went with Alex.”

well there it is! Just a little question, how old do you think i appear by my writing? please be truthful, i wont be offended. thanks.
