i dont think it was suicide, why would he be holding onto the necklace if that was so? to take his memory of her with him, no it was a sign, a symbolism of what he did, Sun or her father did it. Or Jin himself, somehow, left him hanging with the perls the only thing holding him from the ledge...lol...one of those are correct
