after watching it a second time , I really think Jack and Saied have a plan B in case Saied was right about Michael and if he were leading them into a trap . So , Jack may have told Kate & Sawyer of plan B or not , either way he may have trying to re-assure her and Sawyer with that look there is still hope .... Ps , on a personel note , it takes much practice to use chopsticks , UGH !
