I'm not sure about the whole trekking in the jungle undetected. I'm sure its a big place. Also it seems in every episode one
of the LOSTIES is out in the jungle "trekking" and not being "detected". e.g.
Hurley chasing Dave, Hurley looking for the "french chick", hurley and sawyer looking for tree frog, jack chasing his dad, kate
following horse, the trip to the black rock, tailies trek accross the island, climb to use the transmitter, kate & claire going to the
swan station..... i could keep going..
Even if they were detected by the "Others" or someone else, would these people possible want to do anything (contact them,
take them hostage, kill them). Seems to me that the "Others" want as little contacted with the LOSTIES as possible. So can't see
any problem with "trekking in the jungle undetected".
I think you have also made a good point in summing up why the "Others" would not have sent "Mike" on a "mission". It would
cause possible retaliation i'm sure they don't want.. (empasis on "don't cross the line" zeke style)
I still believe it is something "Mike" has done himself, out of a spur of the moment. An idea has popped into his head, and he is
acting. Either to prove a point to the "Others". (I could be one of you... I've given you back Henry, now give me back my boy....)
Or to upset the LOSTIES and possibly get them to go and attack the "Others" camp.
Could just be because "Mike " doesn't like AL and got bored of her drivelling, whinging and moaning......
