We already knew from a previous episode that they were going to run into each other at this bar. This is the bar where Sawyer and Jack's dad sat there chatting. Sawyer has known for some time about Jack's dad. I can't recall if Sawyer has told Jack about that happenstance rendezvous yet or not...
